After almost a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, White Bird has embarked on its 24th year of serving Portland with the resumption of live dance programming.

Over the course of winter and spring, White Bird is presenting the We Are One Festival with dance companies of diverse cultural makeup, led by artists of color that deepen connections with our region’s unique communities.

Kicking off the festival during Black History Month will be the Alonzo King LINES Ballet of San Francisco, an esteemed group of nearly 40 years that embraces an openness for change along with a reverence for cultural legacy.

Performances will take place the Newmark Theatre for 7:30 p.m. shows from Thursday, Feb. 24 through Saturday, Feb, 26.
