The annual Good in the Hood Festival celebrating the multicultural neighborhoods of north and northeast Portland has been cancelled.

“It is with heavy hearts that the Good in the Hood Board has decided to cancel this year's festival scheduled on June 26-28. In the interest of the health and safety of our community, we are following the Center for Disease Control recommendations of social distancing in order to minimize contact between people and the spread of COVID-19,” festival organizers announced Wednesday.

Though Good in the Hood has been a tradition for many years, the festival’s board wants the public to know that they are first and foremost committed to the safety of our community during this pandemic.

“Thank you for your understanding of our decision during these challenging times,” said Simone Carter, Good in the Hood Festival vice president.

The group is looking forward to next year when it plans another Good in the Hood festival on the dates of June 25-27, 2021. To contact Good in the Hood for more information, call 971-302-6380 or visit goodnthehood.org.
