Faith Community Stands with Aguirre

Prayer and song marked his scheduled ICE appointment

 On Thursday, July 16, Augustana staff member, seminarian, and Executive Director of the VIVA Inclusive Migrant Network at Augustana, Francisco Aguirre, was summoned to check in at the ICE detention center at 4310 South Macadam Ave. Mr. Aguirre was accompanied into ICE by Pastor Knutson and his lawyer, as had been their custom over the years.

Supporters were contacted that week, and many gathered outside the ICE detention center for a peaceful vigil of prayer and song.
